Preschool - 1st Preschool is using the mouse as they interact with programs about numbers, alphabet, colors. Kindergarten is using the drawing program KidPix. They will soon start typing words and short sentences. 1st graders are writing short paragraphs with indentation and with centered titles.They are also adding clip art. 2nd and 3rd 2nd grade students are typing paragraphs using double spacing, centering titles, using a spell checker, and adding clip art. 3rd grade students are putting text and graphics together for desktop publishing projects. They are citing the source of Internet pictures. 4th and 5th The 4th grade students have started a HyperStudio presentation about Indiana, with facts about Indiana, a State Park, and a famous Hoosier. 5th grade students are creating a 5th Grade Newsletter, following good desktop publishing guidelines and design principles. Middle School The second half of the 6th grade students continue their semester in the lab with a unit on Spreadsheets. The third group of 7th grade students has started a unit on Computer Ethics, discussing concepts of copyright, Fair Use, privacy, and the Internet. They are making a brochure containing this information. The third group of 8th grade students has started a unit on review/learning new Microsoft Word features. |
